What is Dholera SIR

Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) is a Greenfield Industrial Smart City Planned and located approximately 100 km South West of Ahmedabad.

Spanning approximately 920 Sqkm, encompassing 22 villages of the Dholera Taluka in the District of Ahmedabad, is envisaged to be Bigger than the city of Ahmedabad. It is strategically located between the Industrial cities of Ahmedabad, Baroda, Rajkot and Bhavnagar. It is Part of the Prestigious Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) Project.

Tata Renewable and Tata Semiconductor have finalized the Dholera Special Investment Region near Ahmedabad city in Gujarat to set up a plan, a senior official of the state government said.

It will span a total area of 2,937 sq km and accommodate a population of 1.1 million people. The entire project is estimated to cost Rs 1 lakh crore ($14 billion) Dholera Smart City will be developed by the Gujarat State Government in partnership with companies from other countries.

Dholera SIR is one of the first Special Investment Regions ('SIR') in the state after the SIR Act was passed in Gujarat. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Bhimnath-Dholera Freight Rail Line is approved, and the Dholera International Airport is under construction and will be ready for cargo movement by December 2025. The airport will handle 300,000 passengers and over 20,000 tonnes of cargo annually.

Activation Zone

  • In accordance with the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding agreed between GIDB and DMICDC about early bird projects for the Dholera SIR, DMICDC and the Gujarat Government designated Dholera Industrial Park as one of the early bird projects.
  • The proposed “Activation Area” Industrial Park is stretched across an area of approximately 22.5 sqkm under Town Planning Scheme 2 in Dholera SIR.
  • The area is served by approximately 72 kilometres of roadways and benefits from an optimal combination of land uses, including industrial, residential, mixed-use, recreation, and tourist.
  • The location was chosen based on immediate land availability and its future condition following the execution of the TP project (area with highest opportunity of commencement of site work).
  • The area is already connected to SH6 through the Coastal Road to the north.
  • Also, whatever initial investment comes to Dholera SIR, it will come to activation area first likewise Renewable Power & Tata Semiconductor TATA Group’s Lithium-Ion Battery Plant and Chinese Steelmaker Tsingshan.
  • The Industrial Park (Activation Land) accounts for approximately 4.25 percent of DSIR’s total developable area.

ABCD Building

ABCD Building is Administration Cum Business Center for Dholera, It’s the Central admin office of Dholera Greenfield Smart city.

It is been constructed in TP2 West part (Phase 1) and is located in commercial zone (KNOWLEDGE AND IT ZONE).

ABCD Building Dholera is directly connected to the 55m arterial road which connects to the expressway. The site will accommodate the offices of the development agencies along with a command & control centre & a skill development centre in a total built-up area of 36,000sqm. The building for the Regional Development Authority (RDA) is envisaged to be a LEED GOLD rated building with facilities to accommodate the entire employees required by the RDA for the city of Dholera Smart City.

The 9 hectare site is strategically located within the parcel on a civic axis opening a vista towards a large green space.

Backed by technology, all legal permissions will be administered through the single window clearance feature of this building. Through this one doesn’t need to visit different counters to get any legal work done. Additionally, the structure would operate as the command & control center for ICT & Scada sensors. Meaning, in case there’s even a minor fire anywhere in the city, these Scada sensors will immediately report it to the ABCD building Dholera.

Dholera International Airport is a greenfield airport project in Gujarat, India

  • Dholera International Airport is an upcoming airport in India that will be situated in one of the most beautiful states in India named Gujarat. The Airports Authority of India (AAI) is the owner or builder of this airport. Currently, the AAI is running 137 airports under them.
